A nautical motif was painted on this antique chest. The design features scenes of whaling in a primitive colonial style. Vivid red and subtle gold striping were painted to embellish the theme and accentuate the style of this sturdy chest. The black paint of the body, and its patina of age, are original.
This elegant, ball and claw dresser was rescued from a salvage yard. Its finish was oxidized, crackled like an alligator's skin, and heavily damaged. At our studio, it was stripped, repaired, and refinished. The scrolling vine motif was painted on the face of each draw to accentuate the graceful, bow shape of the dresser's design. The top was painted with a faux, fossil stone finish. New, brass, laurel leaf pulls were added.
This quaint cabinet began as a new and unfinished piece. It received a crackled finish that was further distressed and antiqued for character. The door panels and draws feature simple, hand-painted floral studies.
This antique cabinet was painted with a children's theme of bluebirds, flowers, and fanciful scrolls. Decorative finials were affixed to the top along with handmade sculptures of a bluebird and a flowering vine. It's ready to display favorite books and beloved toys.
